'It’s so easy for the passion for justice to be channeled into activism whilst neglecting to nurture an inner life that fuels it. Mission spirituality is surely the rhythm of both. This new articulation of longings for a better world in prayers and liturgies along with the offering of memories of those who have gone before to light the road is a wonderful gift in that regard. It’s a great resource for individuals and communities seeking to join in God’s healing of all things, to breathe in before acting out.'

~ Jonny Baker, CMS

'This book is water for the thirsty: a rich resource to help Christians in the UK pray and act in these times when radical discipleship is demanded of all of us; and a profound reminder that none of us do this on our own. Read it, pray it, live it – in the company of an ever-increasing 'cloud of witnesses' to God’s ways of justice and peace.'

~ Al Barrett, Vicar of Hodge Hill

'Prayer isn’t a mechanism for escape; it’s a manifesto for engagement in a new world order. By focussing on the Beatitudes, this book reminds us that far from leaving us with a group of platitudes, Jesus issued a call to holy rebellion; to radical, prayerful practice. Living for Jesus & Justice gathers wisdom from those who have responded to that challenge. The result - a toolkit for contemplative activism. We'll be using it in Oasis communities.'

~ Steve Chalke, Oasis Trust

A daily Christian liturgy for people who want to take Jesus’ words seriously in personal devotion, in our communities and in public life. Jesus’ life and words move us to respond to poverty, injustice and exclusion with compassion and action. This substantial resource has been edited and curated by Red Letter Christians UK, the network for radical disciples. It comprises three main parts: A daily liturgy (prayers for morning, midday and evening on a seven-day cycle); Occasional prayers for justice-related events; A daily calendar of justice-related saints and events, with short biographies for all. Living for Jesus and Justice is based on Common Prayer: A liturgy for ordinary radicals by Shane Claiborne, Jonathan Wilson-Hartgrove and Enuma Okoro, with a UK-based focus.

Simon Jones is a writer, activist and theologian, and co-founder of Peaceful Borders, a grassroots agitation working with displaced people in Calais and London.
